About me
I'm a science teacher, focusing on teaching biology and human anatomy & physiology although I occasionally teach chemistry as well. I'm also a husband and a dad of two boys.
But more importantly for purposes of this site, I've been diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
After suffering from Crohn's symptoms for several years, it got to the point where I could no longer ignore it when my colon ruptured, and I had to make an emergency visit to the ER. This eventually led to a two-stage major surgery where I had a portion of my large intestine removed.
During my hospitalization (which was pretty rough) I made myself a promise that I would learn as much as I possibly could about Crohn's disease, and make whatever lifestyle changes were needed to overcome this disease naturally. This site chronicles my journey, and also is a way for me to share information with anyone else suffering from this terrible disease.
It is my sincere hope that the information in this site can serve as an educational resource and encouragement. I am beating Crohn's naturally, and while everyone's individual case may differ, I hope you can too.
